The Sound of Salzburg Dinner Show
It all started out in 1991 as The Sound of Music Dinner Show in the Stieglkeller right beneath the famous Hohensalzburg Castle. Back then, the show already featured a daily live on stage performance with singers and a piano player, as well as the traditional Austrian dinner. All of the musical parts however were from the Sound of Music movie only. This changed, when the show relocated for the first time in the year 2000 to the Sternbräu. Program director Franz Langer decided to include works from W.A. Mozart and typical Austrian operetta music as well as original Austrian folksongs to the schedule and renamed the show to The Sound of Salzburg Dinner Show.
A new neighborhood
In 2014, under the new management of Roman Forisch, The Sound of Salzburg Dinner Show has been moved to a location that really fits the nature of the program: the K+K Restaurants in Salzburg. Right in the heart of the historical district, the K+K Restaurants am Waagplatz is a landmarked building with its own history of hundreds of years. The show takes place in the famous medieval vault (Freysauffkeller) which welcomes up to 70 guests and allures with a mysterious ambience.
