The gastronomy of Salzburg also invites people just to sit together in cosy places: In the Stiegl Brewery, where the traditional beer of Salzburg is brewed, which is known for its very palatable taste far beyond the borders of Salzburg. In warm weather, the chestnut tree-lined beer garden of the Müllner Bräustübl is ideal for settling down and enjoying a little tidbit and a cold monastery beer.
Tip: Particularly noteworthy are the Salzburg Mozart balls, formerly called Mozart candy, that are known not only in the state of Salzburg. This delicacy, a filled chocolate marzipan ball, you will find in the original Fürst cafe at the Old Market in Salzburg´s old town near the Salzburg Cathedral. Here the sweet delicacy was invented and from here, it has been achieved worldwide success.
