New York Times:
This made for a joyful and often humorous spectacle. The level of nuance in the production was remarkable, especially for the small scale of the set and the supposed limitations of the form. Would one expect marionettes could march, dance together, or ride bikes?
Both the singers and puppeteers were flawless, focusing all attention on the lifelike details of the production, from a fluttering bird landing on Maria´s hand to a buzzing bee that appropriately gets under the fussing sisters´ habits.
