In this house, the former Hotel Austria, Emperor Franz Josef became engaged in 1853 to Elisabeth of Bavaria, nicknamed Sisi. Nowadays, it is home to a museum, whose collection documents the historical, cultural and folk history of the town of Bad Ischl.
