The Mondsee is one of the Salzkammergut lakes and located in Upper Austria"s Salzkammergut The southern bank forms the border between Upper Austria and Salzburg. An eye-catcher is the dragon wall, which stands proud on the southwest shore.
The Mondsee is 11 km long and up to 1.5 km wide. With an area of 14 km ² and a maximum depth of 68 m, it is one of the warmest lakes in the Salzkammergut.
