The Dialoge 2019 Salzburg

20. - 29. November 2020

DIALOGE, the contemporary music festival of the Mozarteum Foundation, has been established in the concert calendar of the city of Salzburg since 2006. In 2019, concert director Andreas Fladvad-Geier rethinks the festival with fresh ideas. The most obvious change is the duration, as the festival is now ten days longer and thus has more room for some exciting new content.

DIALOGE 2019 covers a range from very young contemporary composers to Boulez, Berg, Zappa, Say and Baroque. Music is combined with dance, literature and talk, but also quiet moments with meditation have their place.
The next generation has its say, the DIALOGE invite young people to play an active part in shaping the programme.

The name says it all: "The DIALOGEN explicitly focus on dialogue with visitors, musicians and composers, between the artistic disciplines and media and, of course, with contemporary music as a whole.

The DIALOGES see themselves centrally as a bridge between artists and audience - not as a sober explanation, but as an experience, as an event. It goes without saying that our ultimate goal is to reach people emotionally at every single event. No one has to like everything that can be heard and experienced, but everyone should definitely be addressed by the performers, and the best thing to do is to be carried away," Andreas Fladvad-Geier notes. And Foundation President Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg adds: "The DIALOGE should be a match for the festival city of Salzburg, indeed for all of us, they should ignite the fire of fantasy, further development and change! With the significant expansion of DIALOGE, the Mozarteum Foundation is sending a clear signal. The DIALOGE as the contemporary music festival of the Mozarteum Foundation are not only back, they are starting strengthened into an exciting future".
