Built in the 14th century, Goldegg Castle not only holds historical treasures, but also tells the eventful history of the region. The themes of "Flight - Persecution - Expulsion" - impressively conveyed through historical objects and modern media - are the focus of the museum, which is currently being renovated. The expulsion of Protestants in 1731/32 and the "Storming of Goldegg" in July 1944 with its far-reaching consequences are highlighted in particular.
Another historical gem is the nearby reading tower. It houses the archive of the renowned "Goldegg Dialogues" and has a media library with numerous film and audio documents that document important historical events in the region.
