An official personal-identity card is sufficient for EU citizens and the citizens of some other countries, in special cases a passport that expired no longer than five years before entry suffices.
Accompanying children require either their own passport or must be entered in the passport of one parent, in this case, however, they must travel in the company of the passport owner.
Accompanying pets in travel traffic:
From the age of 12 weeks, a valid vaccination card (rabies) in the German language, or with a notarised translation, is required for such pets as dogs and cats. The vaccination must have taken place at least 30 days before entry and must not be older than one year. Each animal must be identifiably by a clearly visible tattoo or a microchip.
