House of Nature - Museum of Nature and Technology

Discover nature from its most exciting side on more than 7000m²

0,66 km from Salzburg Residence Palace

Giant dinosaurs from days long past meet milestones of space travel. The diverse underwater world of the aquarium encounters rare reptiles from all over the world. And the journey into the human body is just as thrilling as the interactive experiments in the Science Center.

From prehistoric times into the future

It's not for nothing that the Haus der Natur in Salzburg is one of the city's biggest crowd pullers - a tour of the museum reveals nature at its most exciting. Right at the entrance, giant dinosaurs from days long gone show a world as it looked millions of years ago. Just a few steps away, a glimpse into our boundless universe offers extraterrestrial experiences: Milestones of space travel bear witness to mankind's age-old dream of penetrating distant galaxies.

Science Center: Technology you can touch

Physics and technology you can touch and literally feel at the Science Center. Here you can experiment to your heart's content. Generate electricity with turbines, float through space on a lifting platform, build a bridge and try it out right away ... the Science Center is 100% interactive.

The museum lives

If that's too technical for you, take a look at the neighboring aquarium: the colorful coral reefs and fascinating underwater worlds invite you to look and dream. Just a few floors up, foreign cultures and life forms take you to the most distant regions of the earth, and in the reptile zoo, even an encounter with live snakes and lizards becomes the most natural thing in the world.

Journey into the human body

Anyone who feels like exploring the human body from a different perspective can embark on a journey into our moving inner life. But the numerous exhibitions allow even more discoveries: From the Arctic to the tropical rainforest, from bizarre creatures of the deep sea to fabulous crystal treasures from the earth's interior - once you've seen it all, one thing is clear: nature is and remains the greatest adventure.
